Kikuyu instant turf
Kikuyu is a vigorous growing grass turf that spreads by its runners and roots. Due to it’s vigorous nature, it is not ideal for small yards or small surface areas. Ideally lay this turf on large areas, where it can control erosion or recover water-logged areas.
It is however, a fast grower and thrives in full sun or shady areas. Very drought tolerant, remaining green and healthy all year round. Severe frosts will brown it off temporarily.
RTF Tall Fescue
RTF Tall Fescue is a grass suited to the cooler climates where rainfall is high, allowing RTF to sink it’s roots deep into the soil, creating a very thick, luscious grass surface.
Great for shady backyards, being tolerant of both direct sunlight and majority shade. It’s deep roots allow it to access water deep underground, continually self-repairing itself via it’s spreading root system, ensuring you don’t get bare spots or lawn thinning.
3 EASY STEPS TO A GREEN NEW LAWN
Preparation
Your new instant lawn requires a good foundation to be laid upon. We prepare your soil using fertilisers and ensure the surface is level. If necessary we will add a layer of sandy loam.
Delivery & Installation
Our turf is delivered as easy to handle rolls, making it easy for you to install yourself. All turf should be installed same day to prevent moisture loss. Our team will usually complete a house site in one day.
Water & Maintenance
In the first month of installation, your new turf should be watered to keep it continuously damp. You can water it 2-3 times per day during summer months. First mowing can be done after 2 weeks.
HOW TO MEASURE YOUR YARD
Trying to figure out how much instant turf you need for your home is easier than you think.
The key is to divide all your areas up into different sized squares or rectangles, then just add them together.
- Use a measuring tape in Metres
- Measure all the different sections of your yard
- Separate them into square or rectangle areas
- Multiply the width by the height of each area
- Add them all together and add 5% extra just to be sure
